I bought a piece of walrus of Don Hanson a few months back and thought you might like to see what i have done with it.
Its the best piece i have seen in the flesh to date. To say it is stunning is an understatement, it positively glows in the sunlight.

anyway, the spec's are:-

Fighter Bowie
Blade - 11 1/4" laddered W's
Guard - Wrought iron with 316 stainless spacers
Handle - Fossil Walrus Ivory, with a stainless rivit
OAL - 16 5/8"

I still need to make some clothes for it.

I see Don's not the only one who knows what to do with a beautiful piece of ivory.

Beautifully done, and very stylish. Congrats!

VERY nice! Great flowing lines, excellent proportions, very tasteful matching of materials. The choice of the SS spacers in the guard to match the SS pin.. just great design... Beautiful work.

YOWZA!!! Man there are some great knives on here right now!!! LOVE THIS KNIFE! :) I just did a laddered W's billet the other day and love the pattern--- You sure did it justice Toby!   :D

wow - thanks everyone for the kind words!

and Nick,
this is the first time i have laddered the w's, i normally end up feathering them but wanted to try something different (well for me anyway)

there's some major flow going on with that design, but majorly nice looking materials and workmanship too. Great package all around.

Great looking Bowie. The blade and ivory look great, but the guard really makes it supurb. That's the part I really struggle with and you did it wonderfully.

Very well done.
I like the guard very much.
I have a hunch that it's even nicer than the images are showing us.
