I was very pleased to bring this nice Don Hanson fighter home with me from Blade this year. Most of my Hanson fixed blades are of the carbon steel persuasion. I was really wanting a nice damascus fighter from Don, and he really impressed me with this one. Blade is 10 3/4-inch, and OAL is 16-inch. Coop did a great job of capturing it during the show.
Today, I received the fighter back from Kerrville, and here is what Paul Long decided to dress it out in. This was after Don spun out a mosaic stud from the same mosaic damscus used for the fighter's finial. Don and Cliff Parker forged out this 20-bar (image) damscus back in 2001 when Cliff was up in Missouri visiting Don and checking out his new shop.
This was Don's first custom stud for a sheath, and Paul's first use of beavertail as an inlay material. Formula for a super sheath.
Thanks, Don and Paul, and thanks in advance for your looks and comments.
