Just for fun I took a little break for making folders. I had not made a fixed blade for a while. Anyway enough BS.

10" from front of guard to tip. 15-1/2" overall. Damascus blade and fitting all from the same billet. A couple of nickel silver accent spacers just to break up the Damascus.

And all the pieces apart

lovin blade profile! Nice one, Bing!

An exceptional Bowie my friend....being a take-down is icing on a wonderful cake.

:eek:Wowzers!! That sure is a Beauty! That Damascus Pattern looks great! Very Different:thumbup:

Thanks everyone for the comments. This is such a great place to hang out. I did not mention the Damascus is a W's pattern 1095 / 15N20. On the last stack up I placed a single piece of.095 15N20 between the 4 stacks. Then drew out and 4 way press on a bias. Then on to the tile cuts. Hope that makes sense. I'm not very good at explaining on the computer.

Thanks again

Hell yeah! Looks awesome. I love everything about it. Great lines and proportions. I hope you still have it on my next visit.

Returned for another view.
It flows and it's lines are very smooth and easy on the eye.
I'm sure the craftsmanship is the usual stellar work.

Ps. Noticed you were mentioned in the "up and comers?"
I think you already came and went!
Keep up the excellent work.

Nickel silver has no place being on this knife, not none.....too nice for it!

Beautiful bowie Bing! I love the lines and the damascus is killer! The new direction you're taking on your guards and fittings is very nice. One of my favorite bowies from you of all time. Nice work!

Although it doesn't detract from this piece, I've been having my own internal struggle with nickel silver. So in regards to the following quote....

Nickel silver has no place being on this knife, not none.....too nice for it!

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Steven, what would you have rather seen for spacers instead? Let's assume we are going to use spacers no matter what, so leaving them out isn't an option. I'm guessing stainless would be good. But is stainless the only choice? Would bronze be okay? Or copper?

I'm being totally serious, by the way. I've been struggling with the same question on some of my own knives. I think nickel silver is okay in a lot of places and I have NO problem with others using it on their knives ever. Even here, it's fine. I've been feeling like it's not the right material on some of my knives. I don't always like the color of the patina it takes, relatively quickly I might add. But I love bronze and that takes a patina fairly quickly too. I like the look of bronze patina a lot better though. I don't care for brass anything at all. So the matter is highly subjective.

But for my own tastes....I think I agree with you about this so you're perspective is interesting.

Again, Bing, Fine work here my friend.
