Here's another one form Chuck Ward's lens taken in Little Rock this past weekend. This one has walrus ivory scales, copper liners, heat colored and fileworked wrought iron frame, copper pins, copper and rawhide bolster wraps, forged textured random damascus blade that is 4",8"OAL.Scrim is by my friend, the lovely and uber talented Linda Karst Stone.Sheath has a raised back with a textured copper back panel, and a free form copper nugget dangle. The display is African Mopani hardwood, and has a 2 pound free form copper nugget.
Thanks to Linda for the fantastic scrim, and to Chuck for his fantastic photos!

Well Chuck's pictures show the scrim really well and they are great shots.... but it still needs to be seen in person. It's just one of those things that can't be photographed. Reminds me of the first time I saw an actual Van Gogh rather than a print... the texture is such an important part of the art. And now that I've seen quality scrimshaw work.. I'd have to say the same thing.

This is an incredible primitive knife-sheath-display set.
The detail in the Linda Karst Stone's scrim is amazing.

Thanks guys! This is the first piece I've had scrimmed, and I could'nt be happier with how it turned out!I have another piece at Linda's right now waiting for her magic touch, and there will be more to come!

Outstanding work, John, as usual. Nice to finally meet you at the Little Rock show. I also have to agree with Scott in that while the photos are great, up close and personal is the best way to experience these.

TRhanks guys!It was a blast getting to spend a little time with ya'll last weekend.I look forward to doing it again when my job allows!
