Recently added this nice mini Bowie made by Canadian Ted Bolenbach about 20 years ago. When I first started collecting in 1980, I had a lot of his knives but later sold them and besides this one, do have another with a whales tooth handle.
Ted was a top notch maker but I have not heard from him in a long while. this piece came from another collector but is a really nice example of Ted's work.
The knife is 440 C and is handrubbed satin finish with a stick tang in walrus ivory with ebony spacer and butt. The contours of the handle fit the hand perfectly and the ivory is smooth like silk.
