This is a Bowie that I had at Blade. Coop did an awesome job shooting this.
This knife has a tile welded W pattern high contrast Damascus. The guard is stainless steel that was finished with both satin and mirror polish. The lines in the shells were filed and engraved so all the lines converge at a single point which gives it sparkle effect when moved. The spacer is also stainless steel and deep relief engraved with 24K gold inlay on the main lines. The handle is fossil walrus and was naturally shaped as an oval that was just under 3/4" thick which made for a nice thin and comfortable handle. The butt cap is also SS with both satin and mirror finish. All this finished off with a SS ball finial. This knife was fun to make, fun to see come together, and fun to show. Comments welcome.

Thanks for looking
Brian

That is absolutely fantastic Brian - probably my favourite piece of yours to date.

Brian That looks really nice I am sorry I did not get a chance to hold it.

Gorgeous knife. I had an opportunity to view it in person and it really does sparkle. This bowie is high end all the way.

WOW Brian that is fantastic to say the least. Mighty fine mate.
Cheers Keith

Superb work, Brian. Everything works together well on this piece. It was a pleasure to visit with you again, and a pleasure to handle such a fantastic bowie.

Thank you all for the commments. If there were ever a knife that I had thoughts of keeping for myself, this was the one. There is a lot of "Me" in this knife.

It was fun showing it at Blade for the time that I had it and I enjoyed peoples reactions as they looked it over and discovered another aspect to look at. This is truely one of my most rewarding and enjoyable builds.

Bill, I got home around 2:30. A lot of delays in ATL that night.

Brian

a lot of knives I've seen of this type, the quillion are either too long up top or too short down below. Seems to me you got the guard proportions bang on. Pretty much stopped looking at it there to come to the decision for myself that it's a pretty awesome knife :)
