Walt Disney Davy Crockett key chain hatchet pen knife

I found one in a thrift store in used but good condition but was the hatchet supposed to close? That's why I passed it was made by Imperial. Anyone have one like it tell me if the hatchet is supposed to stay open or closes.

IIRC, the hatchet is fixed. It has been quite awhile since I have seen one (I had one that "disappeared" during my divorce), but that is my recollection.
