Well, I promised I would post some photos of these two fine examples of craftsmanship, but I wasn't ready for what a pain it would be to take nice photographs. Physic's shots made it look so easy! (great work btw physics)

I built a pretty crummy light box, and fortunately what I lack in photography skills I can sorta make up for with Photoshop skills.

Anyway on to the goods...

Then I changed the white balance and shot a few more before my camera battery died. Here the watch is in sharp focus. I tried to get them bith in sharp focus but I am too much of a camera newb to get it right.. yet

Not too bad for a Canon Elph point and shoot...

Not bad at all! Fantastic work on those shots. That beautiful to behold Brend looks like it has a nice high polish and the Seamaster has a domed crystal so reflections and glare must have been a pain in the neck, but you managed them well. The color in the second shot looks dead on but the first appears a bit red. Since you have Photoshop you can always tweak the colors with it. You should also resize them to around 600 to 800 so they load faster and don't break the table. I'm not sure how the elph's manual controls are but I suspect you can adjust the f stop to get a bigger depth of field. That will make your aperture smaller which effects shutter speed. (I'm really a total novice and can't even come up with the corrects terms to accurately explain this but just experiment a little :)Anyway, charge those batteries and get back to it. These are great pics and I'm looking forward to your next post.

I wanted to try and balance the red out of the first pic but I'm not that good with photoshop yet. This was as good is I could get it.

Love that knife by the way. Watch too.

Thanks Physics!

Yeah first shot was before I learned to white balance. Photoshop can only take you so far to correct that without mucking up things. I tweaked it some myself.

Something I like about your photos, Physics, are the super rich deep colors, and I am thinking that has alot to do with the digital camera's CCD?

Oh boy, yes.. Its pretty easy in photoshop to fix the watch glass glare.
Actually you wil probably be interested in this..

Anyway, too busy buying watches, knives, and guns to afford a new camera. Plus that little Elph point and shoot takes really great more traditional photos of friends family and scenery and such..

Alright but only because it's you, Ronaldo. :D

Kimper - Depending on the knife, background and whatever else is in the photo I might push the colors a little bit in photoshop using the 'saturation' option. I tend to like things to pop so that means high contrast and bright colors. The camera might have something to do with it too although my little Canon S2 IS is only 5 mega pixels in a 8MP world these days. In the end it's all about light. The more, the better.

And thanks for the link. Good tips there.

Most excellent! Both knife and watch.

Here's another knife / watch combo for you, though a much lower end watch. :o

Invicta Grand Driver and Doug Casteel subhilt fighter with Jade handle (the latter belongs to my buddy Murray White, who happens to think the watch is ridiculously huge). :D
