I've been admiring his work for a long time, wondering if anyone has one of his knives, and very much wondering what makes them so expensive? Not that I doubt the workmanship, but does he use any special materials, or is it all reputation/skill? Thanks.

It is the craftsmanship he puts into his work. As far as I'm concerned his grinds are second to none. I look at them more often as works of art other than just a knife. He is a true master of his craft. I don't own any of his own and very own work, but do own two of the collaboration pieces he did with Microtech's Anthony Marfione. Beautiful pieces of art.

Like Tony said his grinding and skills are second to none. Couple that with the fact that he is a good honorable and likable man who has had to stop taking orders since he has so many and it is more than understandable.

I talked with him this past week and I could tell he was that type of man. He said he was going to Blade. He might end up with some drums of G-11 after the show. He is coming by to see what I have left before I close my doors.

Sometimes he has a few for Blade. Walter typically holds a drawing for them on Sunday afternoon.
