Walther Mach Tac 1

So when i was placing an order i could either pay 20 bucks shipping or get something and get free shipping so i ordered a Walther Mach Tac-1.

Im actually sort of impressed with this thing, nearly a quarter of an inch blade, very sharp and made out of decent(440) steel. It actually is quite a beast and for giggles i chopped down a about 3 or 4 diameter tree with little difficulty, the sheath is even decent and afterwards the edge was still very sharp.

The bad news is the handle sucks, very hard and looks like its cracking a bit so when it finally dies ill have to make up a new handle and the guthook is just

But it certainly isnt bad for basically free and is far better than the Gerber BG Parang that came in the same package.

Free is a pretty tough price to beat. Have fun with it.

That said, "440" steel is mystery steel, and a tanto (?!?) machete with a gut hook (?!?) is incredibly silly.

Agreed on the steel and guthook, not entirely sure WTF id do with a guthook on a machete, but free is free.

I think the steel, which is only marked "440", is the more decent super hard mystery steel, the edge is holding much better than the crappy BG Parang i got and the Walther did much more work.
