I went out yesterday to check my traps (another thread coming soon) and ended up with a few extra pictures to share.

I walked to the top of our hay field and over the hill to woods where my traps are.

Found fresh deer tracks in the road through the woods.

Reset my traps.

I decided to set another trap on another part of our farm where I had seen some coyote tracks. I went over there, and wandered around looking for sign.

A snapping turtle was out near the pond.

I got him to smile for the camera.

I got my trap set, and snapped a pic of the set and the tools I used.

This property has an old school house on it, and I stopped to take a look inside before I left.

There are two small rooms on each side of the entryway.

and holes in the floor

The floor is worse in the classroom. Some time in the past the cows have gotten in and collapsed the floor.

Ceiling is starting to come down, but the roof above is still solid.

One last look before going out the back door. I peeked around under the floor, but didn't see any critters. There were coon tracks outside, they might be hanging out in the attic.

Interesting old building. Thought I'd get some pictures of it while it's still standing.

Cool Pics man!
I miss Mo. sometimes.
I used to live in SW Mo. near Marshfield.

Very cool selection of pictures. That turtle looks like a mean little bugger. I love the old school...

I can never resist stuff like this, out in the middle of nowhere. I just gotta look inside. Nice pics

I'm not far from there at all.

Cool thread, Im surprised the turtle was out and about.

I was as well, but it was about 60 degrees here yesterday.

Yeah, he was. I poked at him a bit with my tomahawk handle to get him to open his mouth for that picture, and he hissed and snapped at it.

Cool pictures, thanks for sharing. Post up a thread on the traps you're setting out there too. Great looking schoolhouse, really interesting photos bud!

The icy fence and branch look really cool. I grew up on a creek (more of a drainage ditch really) and we had quite a few snapping turtles come up in the yard. One of them was well over 2ft in diameter. My dad was poking at him with a broomstick trying to get him to hiss and snap at us and the turtle snapped that broomstick in two pieces. I gave them a wide berth after that.

If somebody doesn't grab this quote for their signature I'll really be disappointed in you guys! :D

I don't think i will use it for my sig, but it did catch my eye : D

Great pics of the farm. Looking around in old buildings is always fun.
