My daughter sent me this photo.
I gifted her my Wandering knife when she felt left out because my son's and son in law all had knives and she didn't.
So rather than let her curl up on the floor in a fatal position sucking her thumb with a inferiority complex I gave her the Wandering knife. Not enough room on the kitchen floor for both of us.

Said it harvested pumpkins, cut through like butter.

That is so cute! Just like her! It's perfect for her, the story too... it'll keep her safe and serve her well forever. What a touching story. I love it.

Let the record show that is my grand daughter in the picture. I gave the wandering knife to my daughter who did the cutting. Grand daughter is only just turned three. I want her to be at least 3 1/2 before she goes to cutting with a khuk of her own.
Perhaps when she's older I may present her with my Very Special Earthquake survivor Yangdu Katunji.

I'll have to check on the Halloween costume and get back to you. I've not been advised.

Wife showed me the picture of your daughter with the 2 headed khukri on Facebook.

That was a good shot too. Should post it here as well.

OH, ok.....She was trying on her Harry Potter Gryffindor costume for Halloween, I said come over here, I think this cool knife will fit ya! I was getting ready to pack it up for Singlegrind, so he can experiment on making a kydex sheath for it. Since he's such a cool guy and I had a Bhakta Bonecutter without a sheath laying around, I gifted it to him, after all, what's the use of having mad kydex sheath making skills, if you don't have a beautiful bonecutter to make a sheath for, right?

Plenty of logic in that. The knife does fit the costume rather well too.

Now that they let ladies join the Boy Scouts, she can git her totin' chip card!

Although I dont recall kuris in the curriculum...

Still got my totin chip someplace, think it still has at least one corner left too.

We didn't get no khukri's in my day neither. She won't be joining the Boy Scouts as long as I have any say in the matter.
Another news item that sets me off. Whats the world coming too?

You’ve got a beautiful granddaughter Mr Joe!

I agree, girls have the Brownies, and Girl Scouts, if it was good enough then, it is good enough now.

I have my totin chip too, only God knows where it is though. Had my share of blades, but yea, don't remember no khukuri in the teachings. But then, of course, I was probably too small and weak to be packing, hefting, and using a big honking AK, or something. LOL, I just imagined it in my head, it got me laughing, wife is looking at me like I was crazy or something.

Absolutely adorable:)

The one thing I will say about girl scouts vs. boy scouts is that the boy scouts certainly retain a LOT more of the money from the goods they hock.

BS keep around 73% of popcorn sales. GS keep like 17% of cookie sales. Now, I'm not sure how disproportionately cookies outsell popcorn. Still, seems a little unfair.

Not a political statement on the matter of who gets to be what scout, but as a dad of a brownie it sure seems like the girls are busting their tails for Big Cookie to walk off with a lot of money through the efforts of undercompensated minors:D

I told my daughter the story about the wandering knife and how special it is. I printed it out and have it here on my desk, meaning to give it to her. She decided to google it and it directed her here to HI.
She might be lurking so maybe ease up on some of those names yall call me.
I doubt she'll lurk long but she might do some reading of the archives. Might have created another HI addict.

so....we're going to need to see pictures of this bhakta bonecutter... just saying.

I didn't get a chance to take any pics, but Singlegrind said that it arrived safe and sound.

Maybe he'll post some pics.

Great pix and post, thank you for sharing
