If you don't like rocks, yucca, cactus and Mora's, turn back now!
With the holiday weekend, and milder temperatures, there were quite a few people out on the local trails. I love seeing parents and kids out here, but I was in the mood for solitude so I moved off the trail and down into some side canyons. I am a sucker for sandstone, it is fun to scramble through.

The varied colors of lichen help to liven it up too

This shallow cave was a nice place to rest and have a snack

Below I saw some cactus growing from large branches.

The texture was like rough tree bark, but just under the bark it was green and very soft.

I recently (and begrudginly) got a Kydex sheath for my Companion. I had been thinking about it for a long time, but I just never wanted to spend more on a sheath than the knife cost! But I like carrying this in my pocket, and it makes a very stout and slim package.

I really love this knife much more than $12 knife should be loved.
