I'm not affiliated and won't have a booth there, but seeing as it's the 'world's largest firearms, KNIVES, and accessories show I was wondering if anyone else was planning on attending?

I've been before, but never before with knives as a primary objective. It makes for a long day, but there's always so much good stuff to see.

I believe Rick Menefee is from Oklahoma, maybe he will have a booth? I've fallen in love with his knives and they are on my list!

I'll be excited to see next weekend!

Jim Dunlap usually has a table. It's a lot of walking to cover the whole floor, pack a lunch. Seriously, if you walk the whole floor, not stopping at tables, it will take about 4 hours.

That's the truth. And it's full time weaving through people. Can be overwhelming, but it's worth it. There's not a lot of fluff, it's pretty much all quality stuff.

I walked upstairs and downstairs in one day. It took a fifth, a jacuzzi and three days before I stopped hurting. Helluva show though.

Rick won't be there. Jim Dunlap will be set up at 3 D. If you like knives it's easier to start at the drop off row 1 and go West. I am Mike Miller and will be set up next to Paul Lusk at 5C.
There will be 4or 5 more knife makers in Jims area.

Thanks for the info Mike, I'll definitely swing by! I'm actually located in Cushing, so not too far from you.

I will be there on the second floor not far from where Jim Dunlap's table is and near the concessions and men's restroom. I think it is 7C&D right across a wide aisle from a big vintage rifle/gun display.

I can't take the concrete on my knees anymore. It took a fast walk to do it in 4 hours LR. I usually found the best knives on lower floor and the rows right after going up ramps. One other point is to seek a bathroom break early in day before the lines get too long...And don't wait till its urgent. I also don't suggest taking any family that is not able to fend for themselves in the crush or who is not really interested. In my opinion its not a disinterested spouse and/or little kids activity. Think of it as a mass of humanity, in some narrow spots women have to walk with their arms crossed across their chest. I tried to start early and to have exact entrance fee amount in my shirt pocket. I carried a zippered closing shoulder bag one year and then tried a zippered fanny pack carried in front the next. Wallet and phone in front pocket. I knew a guy who would buy several cases of ammo as he got ready to go and he put shoulder straps on a small two wheel furniture mover like a backpack.

I was specific to Buck folders and usually did my best in the middle of the lower floor. Everyone needs to go once just to see it. Especially, in these political days. Before the last try, I ended like BFS but I started with meds early that morning and gave it up with only four rows to go because I had a long walk to the car. You know its a special deal when you see the chartered buses parked outside. Once my best effort was when my wife dropped me off and I phoned her near the end and sat outside just a few minutes before easing into the seat. She also had shopped till she about dropped at three malls. Best of luck all.

According to their website, if all their tables were placed end to end they would stretch 5.7 miles. I can walk that at a moderate pace :D

So, being kind of new to knives, I used the Google machine to check out Mike, and Jim, and Paul's work. I wasn't familiar with any of them before, but they make some fantastic knives.

In fact, I stumbled on to one of Jim Dunlap's and it is on its way to live with me now! :)

I'm even more excited about seeing their tables next weekend.

Sounds like a great show. Living in NC I won't be going but I hope all that do have a wonderful time.

Knife shows are near and dear these days. The Chesapeake knife show, originally put on by the Chesapeake knife club, in Baltimore was pretty good, got smaller over the years. It was in December, and it seemed like every other year the show was cancelled due to treacherous weather. Blizzards, ice etc. Makers finally decided to give up, then dealers and finally the show was cancelled altogether because no one wanted to come out. Early December isn't the best time of year for a knife show.

The Mason Dixon knife club show in Hagerstown MD, is small but I still go out and support. I'm planning on visiting the Easton PA knife show in September after a powwow.

Support your local shows, they are disappearing.

I agree. This particular show isn't in danger currently, but some of the small gun/knife shows I've been to seem to be on life support.

I've gone several years, but lately, it's just too far to make it. I intend to get there again sometime soon, but I'd definitely have to make it an over-night deal, rather than run through and just glance at the tables.

I do have a brother building a house in the Tulsa area, so I will have to see about staying with him, next time.

Worst/best time I went, I drove from Kansas City to just south of Springfield Missouri to pick up a friend. Stayed Friday night at his house, left at dawn Saturday, made it to Tulsa, and spent about 4 hours at the show, then drove back to drop off my friend, and then went straight home. 14 hours on the road in 24 hours, with 6 hours sleep and 4 hours at the show.

I'd do that one again. Great memories.

Check out Bob Dozier. I believe he's making belts now! He'll have his Arkansas Made stuff, but I may have to get a belt from him, as I can't afford his hand-made stuff.

I don't know why the pics don't show in my last post, but here's a couple better ones.

Please post an example or two of any knives from any of the makers who will be in Tulsa this weekend. Owners show off your knives, makers display your skill!!

I got all of these Gents from Jim Dunlap at numerous Tulsa shows.
