I'd sure like to go but I'm avoiding contact with almost all people until my surgery date. Can't afford to get *any kind* of infection or it will be delayed again.:(

Sure hope you find something really worthwhile and cheap though Dean. :D

FWIW

Booths Booths Booths Booths Booths

Not to be missed if you like guns

regretable to miss if you like blades

"Aardvark : Buy me an SKS, would you please? "
How many? :)
One bin of about a dozen @ $90 each.
But, regretably,
I don't have the proper papers/license to buy from a dealer.
Lots of accesories.

Didn't see any good old khuks yet.
Did buy a lot of 10 very nice, heavy kardas/chakmas of various styles
[Nepal Armoury type]
Good selection of chakmas with flintstriking textures.

Tempted to take a 2nd look at a 'nazi' Cossack Shasqua for $100
looked old, but I think it was a repro
either it had never been sharp,
or the edge had been fully dulled on purpose.

Saw another lacking the nazi markings,
but with a $700 tag.

Lots of katanas from excellent to :shudder:
About a dozen nice kogatanas here & there.

One horrible Chinese dao.
So bad I almost didn't recognize it as such

9 hours shuffling thru a lighter crowd than previous visits.
Sore legs.

Newmade flintstrikers of various designs

Some excellent kris at notable high prices
Some 'recent' production kris lacking proper blade component construction.

Lots of pipe-hawks
brass & steel types
heads only and assembled

Miniature working rifles !
(6in length)
Absolutely amazing
Not to mention the extroardinary workmanship.

'Philippine' blades
mostly smallish (12"-15" oal) blades
with straightish back & belly that swells from grip to center
& diminishes from center to tip.

Many other ethnic blades

Dan - almost a dozen beautiful, old pistol-knives

Lots of interesting odds & ends.

What?!?

Did you take any pics, ddean?

Man, oh man....would have loved to see them. I'm definitely going next time. I hear there's one in April?

I am so jealous it makes me cringe.
Gun and knife shows were a part of my life back home. Every month I could go and just wander around an auditorium full of bubbas with assault rifles and expensive knives, cannon fuse, lockpicking tools, surplus bayonets, ahh me.
I can see it all now.
When I come home I am going to hit a show every weekend to make up for lost time.

The next one is April 1 & 2, 2006. The doors open at 8:00 am. Use your walking shoes as it is an 11 acre building and you will walk at least 6 to seven miles...just to go through it once....and if some thing is a good deal or exactly what you want, buy it when you see it or it will be gone when you come back to it later.

Aardvark: "I think I'm going to be sick."
:D

I did buy 5 Chinese SKS spike bayonets @ $2 each
to cut down for throwing practice.

Did see a real punt gun,
~6' overall length
would look about right on the shoulder of an 9' tall hunter

Drawing a blank now;
more when I remember.
