"Wannabe" Damascus

this is the closest I've been able to get my pattern etch to resemble real damascus.....knife is 13 3/8" overall, 8" blade flat ground from 3/16" 01, tiger maple with ironwood burl extensions, nickel-silver fittings....

No offense, but why are you trying to etch an O1 blade to look like damascus? This knife looks great with an O1 blade. If you want a damascus looking blade, use damascus. Sorry to be so blunt, but when I think of plain steel being etched to look like damascus, I automatically think of those cheezy wallhanger swords with their fakely etched blades. Again, this is a kickass knife. Don't mess with success. Keep the O1 blade looking like O1. :)
