"Wannabe" Damascus

this is the closest I've been able to get my pattern etch to resemble real damascus.....knife is 13 3/8" overall, 8" blade flat ground from 3/16" 01, tiger maple with ironwood burl extensions, nickel-silver fittings....

edited to add alligator inlay sheath I made for this knife....

No offense, but why are you trying to etch an O1 blade to look like damascus? This knife looks great with an O1 blade. If you want a damascus looking blade, use damascus. Sorry to be so blunt, but when I think of plain steel being etched to look like damascus, I automatically think of those cheezy wallhanger swords with their fakely etched blades. Again, this is a kickass knife. Don't mess with success. Keep the O1 blade looking like O1.

It looks good Frank, but it is going to be next to impossible to get that layered look by using an etch.
