Want a Slippy

First time venturing into slipjoint traditionals and was wondering which slippies fit under these terms:

-Single Blade
-Decent Steel (Obviously no Super Steels, but things like 440-C)
-Non-Locking (Duh)
-Not too large (Wouldn't mind slightly large, just not huge. Keep it medium sized.)
-Nice looking wood or bone/stag/antler for handle.
-200$ Price limit.

Thanks.

First I would like to welcome you for your first venture :)

I think you may want to add a general closed length. You could get a lot of different answers if not.

I noticed 200, but I would suggest trying the upcoming Case/Bose Lanny's Clip. 154cm, all stainless, mill relieved liners, pivot bushings, pinned shield. Its a little over your price tag, but if you are seriously interested, it would be worth it IMHO.

I would recommend trying maybe a couple of patterns first that might be in a cheaper price range. When you find a winner you could spend with confidence. Good luck and as long as you get a new knife you win.

GEC #53 cuban they come in wood, bone, stag, and celluloid. They also come in stainless 440c or 1095 high carbon, about 4 1/8 inches long closed. Checkem out, mine jn 1095 gets blazenly sharp !!

GEC 73 single blade (they also come in liner lock if you like) Many handle options and at 3.75" closed a good general size.

GEC 72 as above but lockback if you want.

Gec 85 Candle End EZ-Open bone, woods and stag.

Queen Cutlery 41 Copperhead. Compact tank of a knife in D2

Queen Cutlery 6 Teardrop in bone or wood D2

Then there are numerous French single blade knives, check Fontenille-Pataud or Chambriard.

This lot should be enough to get you started (hooked...):D

If you are willing to get an American traditional, maybe the GEC single blade #73 could be a good option. The Case/Bose Lanny's clip suggested by Kevin could be a great choice, but more expensive.
If you are willing to look overseas, I second Will's suggestion: Chambriard and Fontenille-Pataud are great options and great knives.
Either way...welcome to "our" world

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys.

Honestly, the size doesn't really matter.
As long as it's not morbidly small or large, anywhere from a 2-4 inch blade and maybe around 4 inches closed?
Either way, I'm gonna check out the knives you guys listed,
Thanks for the warm welcome, and for the info.

Alright, so I looked at all the suggestions given, and it seems I'm really digging the Queen Cutlery Copperhead.
Problem with this is, I would really like some stag on this knife, yet it comes with wood.

Does anyone know of a similar pattern, except with stag? thanks.

They make it in "amber carved bone stag". It's not stag, it's cattle bone carved to resemble stag.

Queen also makes a single blade 4 1/8" trapper in genuine stag.

Queen's knives are made in D2 steel, which is great, but their bevels tend to be somewhat "butterknife"-ish from the factory.

Canal Street also makes some single blade trappers in various handle materials. Usually 440C or 14-4CrMo.

GEC makes some single blade trappers in stag, but you'll be limited to 1095 (NOT stainless). However, you can find some of their knives in 440C and American elk antler, like the slim dogleg trapper. Honestly, this might be the closest you'll get.

Thank you so much, I think I'm gonna go with the GEC 48, It has basically everything I wanted.
And, I know my steel statement was quite broad, but honestly I wouldn't mind the steel choice unless it was some surgical steel or whatnot.
440-C along with 1095 is perfectly fine.

Thanks,
Alex.
