want decent point down pocket folder

My normal EDC is a GS2 tanto that I really like, but when I first got it, it opened up on my shirt twice while seated carrying IWB (it's a little large for comfortable pocket carry IMO). Now that I'm carrying around a young child regularly, and would still like to carry a knife, I want something else. Most of the folders I see are point up, I'm looking for point down so I don't poke holes in my kid. Ideally, pocket-sized, reversible clip, half serrated, and not a lot of dough. And I'd like an American made knife this time. I have seen knives that meet all the requirements except the point down part. Any suggestions?

Sounds like Camillus EDC to me, but the clip is not reversible. Also Spyderco Delica Stainless Steel handle (clip goes up or down, but does not reverse). Maybe these 3-inchers are too small for you. What size are you looking for. How important is a reversing clip?

No, 3" is good. I want to put it in my pocket, and my 4" GS2 doesn't fit comfortably, at least not if I want to use my pocket. I'm a lefty, so I would prefer the ability to carry left, but truthfully, its not a big deal because, for other reasons, I most often carry right. And with a metal handle, I would wouldn't mind tapping a new hole if space allows to put the clip where I want it. I have an old camillus knife with a knife blade and a thick locking screwdriver tipped blade. I really like the knife, it has held up well to abuse and sharpens nicely, but I prefer something thinner with a clip for EDC.
I never been much for carrying sheaths on my belt, but I'm thinking that may be a good solution for me right now, so maybe I'll get a multi-tool.

Gerber makes the Applegate/Fairbairn Covert Folder in America, although Hitachi's ATS-34 is used for blade steel. It can be had partially serrated and with or without a false top edge. It is a shade smaller than your GSII from Cold Steel and packs quite comfortably. Not much of this sucker is visible when clipped inside your front pocket. The clip is mounted HIGH and is reversable. www.cheaperthandirt.com has them priced fairly reasonably.

Cheers.
