I got one 7" piece. Thank you, Vincent. Well, now I want one more, 9" or 5.5". Brand-New. Thanks for any info.

arthoro, do you now use your 7-incher? Did you intend on using the 9-incher if you could get one? For a user in this design, I feel the 7" or 5.5" versions would probably be more practical.

I have a 9" Kathathu but it's an expensive $500 safe queen. (It's not for sale). I've seen the asking price for a 9" in the secondary market as high as $650--whether it sold for that much, I don't know. If you want to acquire the knife for the enjoyment of collecting / ownership, it may be worth the high price to you; however, if your intent is to make money (by selling it) in the future as the knife appreciates in value, I think you'd be better off investing in the stock market.

I hope it's okay to post this: I saw one advertised at John Jensens website a few months ago. (I think it was brand new).

P.S. If you're buying one brand new, you should ask if the seller has the "included" Scott Cook note about the limited quantity (50) of the initial run.
