I have a bowie knife I realy like but can't stand the stag slabs that are on there now. It does not feel good in the hand. I real like the size and shape of the blade, just want new handles on it?
I think wood or micarta would work out great. Any ideas on who could do this without costing an arm and a leg?

Thanks!

well i know that S T R does that stuff but its sorta expensive :( you can go to his thread under knife makers specific forum then go to S T R's backyard knifeworks then post a thread telling him what you want done

Force-Recon,

Have you Gooogled, "Knife Repair" or "Knife Handle Conversion" ??

If you want wood, go with Osage Orange. Tough, nice lookong, comfortable in the hand, durable and period correct.

But if you're historically inclined, remember that Bowie Knves were mostly carried by highwaymen, gamblers and pimps, so Mother-of Pearl would be appropriate! :D

You might contact Mike Stewart at "Bark River Knife and Tool" to see if he'd do it for you.
