Want new small folder...which one do you like?

Carry comfort is number one. Not too fat or heavy and will stay in my pocket (has clip). Blade and handle design for knife "usefulness" is number two. Won't tear up my pocket (like my Kershaw Blur does) is number three. Max blade length about 3". Prefer plain blade with satin finish (no waved knives). As mentioned, weight is a concern. For example, I love my Al Mar SERE 2000 but I think it's too heavy and big for EDC, IMHO. Have Delica, Native, Leek, and many others. Just want a new knife, I guess.

No Griptilians (have 3 already). Large model too fat, while small model is just that, a bit too small.

Choices so far (other suggestions welcome):
Benchmade Mini DeJavoo
Benchmade Sequel 707
Lone Wolf Harsey T1 w/G10 handle

Thanks for input

How about that new BM mini DeJavoo ??

Hmmm.....I like it. I was not aware they had a mini in this model. I have edited the original post and added it to the TOP of the list for consideration.

Do you own this knife? If so, what are your thoughts?

Thank you very much

BladePrince,it was a mini DeJavoo 4 trade in the trade forum, but it is traded already, and that was fast
Should say something about the knife

I always get good responses from my Buck Nobleman. There's just something about that blade that people like. It's cheap, but most people don't know anything about knives anyways, and it opens all kinds of things and doesn't intimidate anyone.

Pick up what you like from the high end knives AND take a look at the Boker Trance for comfortable carry, solid manufacturing quality, and everyday usefulness. :)

For small, lightweight and razor sharpness and with kickin' axis lock, I likes the BM 530 in 154cm. So easy to carry, light, you forget it's even there. Doesn't print at all and can even be worn with slacks without any pocket droop. One knife I will always have in the rotation!

Good point....I forgot I have one of those. You are correct about its ease of carry. Great little knife. I even modified the curve of the blade "butt" where it contacts the axis lock so that it can be "flicked" open.

I then reversed the clip for left hand carry, but carry it in my right pocket, tip up. I can draw it, flick it open, and curl it into a Pikal grip, all in less than 2 seconds (I've studied knife SD for many years). Just for fun, here is an old video I took of it about a year ago for a short demo (takes a few seconds to load). Thanks for the reminder.

And thank you, Spyder10, for the Sebanza suggestion. I have a large one. Great knife but I need a clip.

Regards

Cool! My GF Nadia, an up and coming fashion designer, decorated the pocket clip so that I can use it as a tie clip (with a hot glue gun and some beads and things from Wal Mart). Looks and works great. Stays put, lying across the tie off the third shirt button, very discreetly and no one is the wiser. I have pondered getting a few more 530's to have her decorate those so it doesn't look like I am always wearing the same thing, trying to stay trendy at the least especially those of us who are fashion concious that way LOL. :) Yeah these things flip with very little effort too!

What about Camillus CUDA EDC? It's not high end (actually quite opposite :)) but it's so small it fits any pocket and packs useful blade.

SS Framelock, AUS8 blade.

And discontinued unfortunately.

Spyderco Calypso 3 or Spyderco Calypso Jr. I personally prefer the Caly Jr. because it's lighter than the Caly 3.

I also have a Caly Jr. Nice little knife and a good suggestion. CUDA also good suggestion.

Maybe it's partly my age. I carried large folders for years but as I've grown older, I want something smaller and more comfortable. I may eventually move back to belt-pouch carry. That was what everyone used before Spyderco invented the pocket clip. Slower on the draw but a secure carry and the knife can be larger since it's not in my pocket. I have a large Manix and Ruckus with custom leather "fiction" sheaths that are pretty comfortable.

I also have some small FB's I sometimes carry (my favorites are a couple of Doziers and an Ingram) but I get a lot "looks", even with only 3-3 1/2" blades. Winter was easy to carry those concealed but summer make it difficult to keep them covered. People seem less bothered by a leather sheath for a folder. Probably because they have seen them for years and men ofter carry them, and multi-tools, for work reasons.

I just ordered the LW Harsey T1 I mentioned in my original post. I have the T2 and think it's a great knife but a bit big for EDC. I think LW knives are very much underrated.

I've looked for the mini Dejavoo but all dealers seem to be out of stock at the present. I'll order that one also, when I can find it available.

I guess I just an all-around knife nut. I own enough knives to open my own small shop. It's crazy.

Thanks for all contributions,
Gary

How about an AFCK MINI if you can find one. The blade may be a little long but the BM 940 is nice too. Kevin:)
