I am seeking a source for a leather or seude leather pocket pouch or sheath that will fit snugly around a case trapper to prevent coin scratches while its in my pocket. I may not have labeled it correctly but I want something to protect the knife.

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

You can look at lacquer, too. 2 coats of polyurethane and my knifes (that it was applied to) feel like they could stop a bullet. It takes some experience to get it right and even (mine are pretty sloppy), but it leaves a superb and cheap protective coating for both the bolsters and the scales.

Check out KnivesShipFree (google them) -- they have quite a few pocket slips/sheaths to choose from.

coins? why bother with coins anymore?-yeah i know.
put them in a pouch in another pocket maybe.
cheers

Some type of protection is necessary for most people, if they organize their pockets in a usual way. My left-front pocket has my wallet and knife, change if my knife has a clip. My front-left has my cell phone, any anything else in that pocket will scratch it up. Wallet in the back pocket is bad, it screws with your spine alignment, so front pocket is where it should be.

Here's a leather pocket sheath I made exactly for that, to protect my Sebenza and AAA flashlight from the occasional other stuff in the pocket. It keeps the knife and light in an upward position as well, for easier deployment and additional carrying comfort. Just wanted to give you options...

I make something like this for inside the pocket carry for slip joints and other smaller knives including the Case Trapper

Take a look at www.backroomleather.com

I ordered a couple of these to carry some of my Case knives. Nothing fancy but they do work very well. Good price and had them shipped out pretty quick. He is a member on here also.

I've made several like this myself, but without the second pocket, and wide enough to fit each pants pocket edge to edge. I just want my EDC to remain upright when in my pocket (without needed a visible clip,) and not imprint on the outside of my pants. Without the second pocket, the entire pouch is much thinner. I punch a series of holes in it to ventilate, and skive down the edges to keep the front of my pocket flatter to my leg. The pouch itself is behind it. I can also put my iPhone into the same pocket, sitting beside the knife but protected from it. The front plate (the part facing outward,) is made from 5-6oz tooling leather and has no modeling, keeping my pocket looking empty, while the pouch itself is softer suede. The flesh side of the leather faces the pocket material so that its own friction is enough to keep it from moving upward when I remove the knife.

I've made a bunch of these as the pouch that will fit a Benchmade 710 isn't good for a large Spyderco, and vice versa. Also, the width of pants pockets vary from pants to pants. I want the knife to sit in the same position on my leg for consistent draw. Quick and easy to make, and it doesn't take a pro to do it, as it's never visible! :)
