Want To Become a Moderator

I'd like to help moderate the Knife Testing & Reviews sub-forum. I'm not sure what I need to do to become a Moderator, but I know what the duties are. I don't want Super Duper Mod powers over everything; I just want to help keep that one forum cleaner. Thanks.

64 views and no replies? I'm guessing that my request has been denied, or is being thought over. Here's hoping.....

I don't know for sure if it is true for Bf but general forum policy is, "don't ask us, we'll ask you.".

Doesn't it seem just a little arrogant to get huffy simply because your unsolicited request to become a moderator has been viewed a whopping 64 times without this honor being bestowed on you?

If an additional mod is needed in the reviews section, I think JNieporte would be a fine choice, for what it's worth.

It's not the number of views that matters, it's if Spark sees this and what he thinks. No one else can make the decision.

There's no need to get negative about him wondering, though. Service & Support is here for any questions about forum policy and operation. It is a legitimate request.

roughedges: I wasn't aware of an unspoken policy like this, however I admit that I only post on two forums. If this is the concensus, then I'm violating policy and I apologize.

Sharp Phil: I wasn't trying to come off as arrogant, or as if I deserved being a Moderator. I'm sure there are plenty of posters more qualified than I am, however I wanted to contribute (I have a money order made out for real membership) as much as I can. If my post came off as huffy or arrogant, or asking for undeserved powers, which it obviously did, then I apologize for offending you Phil.

kiahs: Thank you for the vote of confidence.

Esav: Got it, thanks  This is Spark's backyard and we're all invited to play, but the rules are his. No problem with that for such a nice playground. If you need one more Custodian to help clean up, let me know. Okay, enough analogies.

I pointed myself due north, and clicked my heels three times fast. If someone wants you, they will let you know :)

For what it is worth (not much) I have enjoyed your posts since you signed up here and think it would be a good choice.

And yes you do need to be apologetic at times to be a decent mod, cause you are going to make a mistake now and then. :)

Definitely.

Although this will probably not matter to the HPIC, I think J would do a fine job.

Well, unless you've had advanced goat-based training.:D;)

I have no idea if the OP would be a good choice or not, but I have seen at least one other volunteer for being a mod, and was given the red letter jacket for it...so volunteering is allowed. :)

Ah, then let me throw my hat in the ring. The Razors, Scissors, & Personal Grooming forum has gotten completely out of hand as of late and is serious need of moderation. I feel that the free wheeling debauchery is bringing down BFC as a whole. Against my better judgment, I will volunteer to control those scoundrels. :p

Well, what with the throwing of hats... I'd like to nominate myself to moderate What's New. I feel that with a little more oversight, that forum could be the bee's knees, the place to be!

First we need someone to vouch for your own personal grooming.

I can take pics, but I'll have to post them in a particular sub-forum. :D

On a serious note, if I can use this thread to make a suggestion for a mod. The Sheaths and Such forum doesn't have a mod, and I think leatherman would make a great choice if it ever comes up.

I second that....
