i want to get a buck 560 with BG-42 blade badly, and want to buy one directly from buck's factory(thinking mail a 560 to buck's factory for a BG42 blade is too trouble) ,but i don't know whether it still was produced because i couldn't find its message in buck homepage, would anyone give me some suggestion?thanks

The 560 was never "factory-produced" with the BG-42 blade. The ONLY way to put this combintaion together is to purchase a 560 (find the best deal!) and send it to Buck for a blade swap.

Yes, run a search on them in The Good, The Bad, The Ugly forum under Exchange. I've only ordered from them twice in the past and service has been great. Good luck!

eknifeworks.com is Smokey Mt. Knife Works and I have been dealing with them off and on for many years. They are a creditable outfit to do business with but it helps (as with any internet or mail order outfit) to know what you are looking for, or buying before purchasing. In this case, you do....

i still wonder why buck company didn't make some knifes with BG42 blade directly but let people send knife for upgrading.it is too touble and inefficient.

BG-42 is not a standard blade on any of the 110 or 112 line. It has to be laser cut, which is very costly for the volume of knives that Buck sells. Which is why it uses the same steel that the 110 does, 420HC which can be stamped out.

The 560 with BG-42 was only thought of at about the time the 560 was on its way out of Buck's line. I got so many requests though that I decided to offer it on a limited basis. Most of the requests come from the forums.
If you send me an email, I think i can help with your particular request. It may take a while for me to respond though as I am leaving town until 11/3.
Take care,
