I have no idea what to post this under so im getting soem sort of new fix blade and a couple suggested getting a handmade one off here. The only downside is all i can realy spend is like under 100$ so if you have something tell me!

Go look in the knife makers forum under for sale fixed blades. You may find one to fit your budget. Don't settle, you may have to save up some more money. You should also learn about the different steels and how they perform. Then you will be able to make a wiser choice on a knife that will fit your needs.

Unless you really know knives and really, really know the knife maker and the heat treat that he/she uses, you're better off with a production blade from a well-respected manufacturer. Making knives is both and art and a science. Few do both well; and those who do generally command very high prices for their expertise.

This is great advice. I have done just this. Know what you want (size, steel, budget) and check back their frequently. It may take some diligence but you should be able to come away with what you want.

A good place to start is in the exchange. There's a lot of great knife makers at all price points. What size knife do you want? Does it have to be stainless?

Here's a nice one on the exchange right now.

Are you looking for just the blade, or a knife with handle and mountings? If you can make your own handle (and sheath) you can get a very high quality blade for a very reasonable price. One of my favorite makers is Ivan Campos of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Check him out. Ragweed Forge has blades from a variety of manufacturers that are as close to custom as you could ask. Or check out one of the many smiths on this forum; you might be surprised at what you can find in your price range.

If you are wanting to build you a knife check out Russell Green River knife kits. They are good quality steel and you install the handles with what they supply you with.

They are good quality, usable knives.
