I won't try and come up with other options because I have only had a handful of Orange knives myself and most of the orange knives I have now are over your target price range by a good amount if not more but I do have the orange Zing and it is by far one of the best <$40 knives I have ever owned. Mine functions as if it were 4 or 5 times the cost and by that I simply mean the flipper action almost feels like a KVT system. The lockup is early and the lockbar releases super easy while the lockup is ROCK solid in all directions.
The F&F is outstanding, the blade is centered and it just works really well. And the thumbstuds work really well too. If the size is ok for you, I recommened the Orange Zing whole heartedly. Personally, I think it blows the Skyline out of the water. If the Zing used G10 rather than the FRN scales, the Skyline would be a big loser to the Zing IMHO. It is already IMHO. The blade stock is thicker on the Zing as opposed to the Skyline and that helps the flipper action a great deal over the Skyline. I carry my Zings a lot, especially during the summer months due to the light weight carry. And I have a lot of $200 to $600 knives in my rotation. I can't fault the Kershaw Zing for anything since buying them. Top value IMHO.
