Based on research here it looks like anyone can post in "Want to Buy" but only Gold membership or above can actually view those posts and thus reply.

Can someone confirm that is accurate and correct?

I.e. when I look at the subforum I only see my own post there from 2011...I imagine there are many others but that I can only see my own as I am not a paid member?

Thanks all!

Thank you both for the replies! Appreciate it. I may upgrade eventually. I'm a paid member over on another online forum and it def has been worth it. This would be the next one up!

Correct on all counts.
If you don't mind me asking, what's the general rule for the Wanted to Buy and a follow-up post or creating a new thread if no responses - I know some forums limited/occasional"bumps" are allowed to inquire again whereas other forums frown upon or prohibit that entirely. Just want be sure I'm following etiquette here and hadn't found the answer to that in the FAQs as relates to Wanted to Buy, and the Knife Exchange rules don't comment specifically on Wanted to Buy either, best I can tell - only that a new For Sale thread can't be created until 14 days has passed after the first one created, and that no bumps allowed. I assume that's the same logic I should apply to a Wanted to Buy thread?

If I recall correctly, the 'bump' to the top of a forum by posting in your own thread does not function here anymore. Best practice would be to close your old thread and repost every two weeks.
