The largest 3 Gun competition in the country will be happening this weekend at Rock Castle Shooting Center in Mammoth Park Kentucky. There will be over 500 competitors shooting Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The match is sold out, but there are going to be a ton of awesome side matches and pro clinics being held every day. Vendors will be out in full force showing off the latest and greatest and answering all your questions. Honestly, the pro clinics alone are worth the trip. The best action shooters in the world will be running these clinics, you can't put a price on that. Want to shoot with Jerry Miculek? Come on out. AAC and TNVC will be hosting a suppressor shoot on Night Vision Goggles... IN A CAVE!!! There will be a ton of raffles and auctions, plus the prize table for the match is valued at over $500K. I can't think of many ways I'd rather spend my weekend! If you see the guy pictured below, be sure to come introduce yourself with a cloven hoof salute, I hear he's very generous about letting folks run his guns in side matches...

if that's back of the line shooting I'd have to be way back...and off to the side... in the bleachers. best of luck, have fun!
 
Seems like a lot of running. That is no way to spend a weekend LOL. You are never gonna get in shape like me if you keep this up.

I finished at #76 of 254 competitors on the pro side. My goal was top 1/3rd, so I made that, but I was really hoping for top 50. Throughout the entire match I had three misses on paper that cost me 21 positions. To say there was no room for error is an understatment. On each of the eight stages, one second could cost you 20 positions. Crazy.

It was a blast. Barrett sponsored a beer trailer providing Budweiser and Amber Bock until we drank it all early Saturday night. 500+ shooters can really put a hurting on free beer! The crowd was awesome and I didn't meet a single person that I didn't like (it must have been all the free beer).

I'll get some video together over the next couple of days and post it up for you guys to check out. You'll really get a kick out of the prize table...

Anyone who is on the fence about giving action shooting sports a try- GO FOR IT. You couldn't ask for a more supportive group of competitors. Even shooters that are neck and neck for the top spot share tips and ideas on how to shoot the stage quickest with each other. Everyone will take extra time to help the new shooters, even guys with multiple world records will be happy to give advice. Women are really getting in to this sport too. There is a womens training camp that receives a ton of sponsor support called "Babes With Bullets", they were there in force and did very well. If you want any advice on how to get started, shoot me a PM.
