I recently got a slow motion camera and have been shooting everything - knife related, I've shot the opening of a Kershaw Skyline and a Kershaw Needs Work. Is there anything in particular anyone wants to see in slow motion? Flipper opening, etc.?

I'd like to see someone flicking a knife open with "gravity" or "centrifugal force." I think, in fact, what you'd see is someone deliberately manipulating properties of inertia. Since this is a legal issue that arises in some states it would be nice to get some good slo-mo video of the action.

An OTF popping a water balloon :D Classic slo-mo action

Excuse my noobishness, but OTF?

The camera is a Casio ex-fh25

I'll be adding videos to youtube, youtube.com/fierostetz

I was thinking of getting some slow-mo while sharpening on my belt sander to see what's happening.

I'll slack the blade in one of my flippers to try to show the difference between AO, flipper, gravity, wave.

This might wind up being slow motion footage of me bleeding :)

OTF, refers to a switchblade in which the knife comes (O)ut (T)he (F)ront of the handle.

There is the Single Action OTF, where the button releases the blade, and theres some sort of handle to retract the blade.

A D/A OTF is a knife in which the switch opens and also closes the knife. This requires fairly significant force with the button each way, as in both directions it is compressing the spring for the next movement.

For examples of D/A OTF autos, try a search for Microtech Scarab, or Ultratech. Benchmade makes the Infidel, HK makes the Tumult, Pirhana makes the Excalibur, Desert Knife Works made the Sandshark.

As for what to video, I agree on some OTF action, but would also be interested in some cutting techniques, like the water bottle, or hanging rope, or balloon popping.:D

The macros pretty solid, but I need to get a plexi shield before endangering the lens- it's not replaceable/removable :)
