I'm torn between Benchmade 710 and the 943/940 benchmades, I wish I had the funds to get all three but can only get one for my birthday, which one do you guys prefer? I'm leaning towards the 710

They are all good knives, I would like to suggest the 300sn which is one hell of a knife. it is a little bit smaller then the 710, but some people have yet to hear about it, so i figured I would throw it in. out of the 3 models you suggested though, I would go for the 710.
Good luck

What do you have for knives now (that you like the size of)?

Depends on your intended use and how you carry a blade.

Looking for a lightweight, strong, and reliable EDC that fits perfectly in a pair of dress slacks but can also handle 99% of hard use cutting tasks? Go for the 940.

The 710 is an outstanding hard use and outdoors knife. Even with a 4" blade, the handle to size ratio and slim profile makes it easy to carry. It's also a great slicer due to the recurve of the blade.

If I were you, I would purchase the LE 710 in CPM-M4 right now. One of the best knife values on the market right now!

I'd go for the 710. It's definitely one of my favorite knives.

The 940 is much smaller than the 710, and I prefer the thicker blade of the 710 to the 940.

depends what you need it for.

My vote: hands down 940. Its slim, its lightweight, and its stronger than it looks. You can use it to cut boxes, you can use it to open letters, and you can use it for food prep. It carries very small so you forget its in your pocket. The 710 is a nice knife but its huge for me to EDC...however if I needed a hard use folder I'd give the 710 a nod.

Thanks for this post guys I was going through the same thing.

Wow, the 940 is a beauty too...can't we have it all!! FOR ME it's between the 710 & 940.....but anyone are great! Guess buying one with the best value in pricing is important.

Yeah, you might want to edit those out before a mod gets after you ;) You cannot link to live ebay.

Wow. So many votes for the 710.
The 940 is my favorite Benchmade. It will be easier to sharpen, also, depending on what you use to sharpen your knives of course.
I personally don't like the G10 on the 710, and hate recurves. Had a 710 and got rid of it shortly after aquiring.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers!

Another vote for the 710. I have both (the 710 and the 940), and they're both great knives. But if I could only keep one, I'd have to keep the 707's (my usual EDC) big brother.

Hard to go wrong with either, though.

Wow, thanks for all the responses guys, my edc rotation right now consists of a kershaw cryo, spyderco endura, spyderco sage, full sized griptilian, and ZT350, as well as a SAK tinker. I think I may invest in the 940 first and then the 710, but will get both eventually!
