Want to Try an Emerson- What to Get?

Well, I've been meaning to get an Emerson for a while and just never did. Figured I'd might as well just go for it since I now have some spare cash. I want an un-coated, plain edge model with a double V-Grind. Max price is $250. So far, I have found the Commander models, Reliant, and Mini CQC-15 to be my three favorites. I found a super commander and Reliant in stock in the configuration I want but the mini CQC-15 seems to be harder to track down. Unfortunately, most places have very low stock on Emerson's so I don't have too many options. I usually favor 3.5" blades so the Super Commander is a bit bigger than what i'm used to and is literally right on the edge of legality here (4.0" and under). Otherwise, I love the Commander design (actually might be my favorite Emerson design). The reliant does seem very nice though size wise and I like the tanto blade. So, any recommendations on which one would be better? Or is there another model (that isn't very hard to find) that I should look at? Also, if anyone has a Super Commander, could you post some pics of it next to some other knives? Thanks guys.

Try the Mini Commander. It is not in the Prestige Class (more expensive) so the price is only somewhat over priced instead of very overpriced.

My overall favorite so far is the 7A.

Nice pic! I've narrowed it down to either the Super Commander or Reliant. Not sure which yet. I prefer the blade of the SC I think but the handles seem almost the same on the two.

My favorite all around every day use and carry Emerson is the CQC10. If he made a Super CQC10, I'd buy it mo rick tic.

The Super Commander is my favorite Emerson. You can't go wrong with that choice.

What exactly is the "prestige class"? Is that what it's called now when tan G10 and a V grind is put on a knife?

To be honest, my favorite is CQC 8. Unique blade shape that you can't find anywhere else. V grind, but chisel edge (easy fix)

i have a Mini A-100 and horseman, and are my 2 favorite folders.

i was able to handle a Roadhouse at a store, and its nice!

the mini cqc-15 is another on my "buy" list.

the cqc-7v is also very nice, it has the "V" grind, and desert G-10 handles.

I've looked long and hard at Emersons for a while, and have only ever found one that appeals to me more than the others. After handling and fondling all the different models they had at a blade show, I got a CQC-10.

From what I understand, the prestige class is their higher end models based on some very inexpensive ones they did a while back. For example, the Reliant was an aus 8 blade with zytel handles. The "prestige" model of it that's available now is more in-line with the others (154CM, G10, ti). I could be wrong but that's what i've gathered.

Might have to give the CQC-10 some more consideration based on your guys' replies. Doesn't seem quite my style though.

I'll also vote for the CQC-10. I have a Benchmade CQC-7 and like it but I find the 10 much more useful for general utility. I don't carry a knife as a primary weapon. It is a tool that can be a weapon if needed. The CQC-10 does both. The grip fits my hand perfectly and there are no uncomfortable edges to rub hot spots when doing extended, heavy cutting. The strong, spear point is very useful for detailed work and strong enough for gouging and boring. The edge is easy to keep sharp. I could live without the black coating but it doesn't hurt anything. It was a Christmas gift from an old friend and I have gotten a lot of use out of it. I am not fond of tanto or recurve blades so the 10's blade shape it perfect for me.
