Where do I go ?

My Jag broke four days ago. I was never in love with it but it was all I could find locally. I am looking to replace it with something better.

What is out there ? (and no flea market knives please…I’m tired of the junk).

Also tired of waiting for the new BM's that may be too light.

And what price range are we talking about if not the new BM's ?

Last who if any are custom makers who specialize in balisongs?

Right now it seems to be a bit of a waiting game.

Mike Turber seems to have a secret Balisong project in the works. Sounds like he's trying to keep it in a reasonable price range too. I can't wait to see this one.

As far as the model 42 goes, I got to handle one over the weekend and I loved it! (remember me, I normally hate light Balis)

When I first heard about the weight reduction, I was worried. I like my Balis wide and heavy. This is the usual BM thin handled Bali, but significantly lighter.......... and ya' know what??? It works!

These things are lightning fast (like nothing I've ever handled) and smooth as silk. Thin and light is a much better combination than the old thin and heavy models. Much more controlable at high speeds.

well you can always start looking for BM45's they seem to be circulating still on the market.. and are surprisingly one of the more common pieces.. relatively speakign ofcourse..

as far as Custom Balisongs go.. Miller (God rest his soul), Ken Largin, Erikson are out of the picture.. you might try to try to find Salley (can';t find him) and I hear Reese, Miller's partner is planning to do some using Miller's old unused handles. Good luck sir!
