Hey everyone,
I've been fiddling around making my own knives, when I finally decided to start being serious about it, and maybe try to sell some of my knives. And then... I had to move for my job. Where I'm at now is super expensive to live, so I can only afford an apartment. And... No surprise, they don't think too much of me setting up my forge, anvil, grinder, etc on the balcony and making knives on the balcony... So, I've been searching for someone who wouldn't mind working with me, to create designs, and to sell me bare blades that I can then put handles on, make sheaths for, and finish.
I'm honestly not super picky. I do have my own style, but I'll work with whatever you can do. It doesn't have to be heat treated, because I can send the blade off to Peters, like I was doing before. I'm just looking for the shape, and the bevels to be done. I can handle the final finishing, heat treatment, and sharpening.
Anyway, thanks! Please get ahold of me if you are interested, or you know if anyone who might be!

Kimball

Please don't feel shy. I'm really open to all options. Chef knives, Bowie's, Tantos, etc. I just can't give up my knife making. It's part of who I am.

You should post this in shop talk section of this site. JT Knives makes blanks, does HT and surface grinding. I doubt you can avoid all grinding...

If you are willing to use a design other than yours you can buy heat treated blanks from places like USA knifemaker or Jantz

Hi Kimball. I see you're in Spokane. You might want to check out the NWBA (www.blacksmith.org) and I'll bet you'll be able to find a local smith where you can get some shop time. You may even be able to set-up some of your stuff (ie grinder) if they have room.

Funny?? I posted a reply right after his thread came up and don't see it.

I said that bare blades ready to put on handles can be found at most every knife supply seller. Knifekits.com, Jantz, Texas Knife Supply, USA Knifemakers, K&G, Alpha, etc.

I figured it out. He posted the thread three times. I deleted two, one of which was the one I posted on.
