when clicking on "wanted to buy" gadgets/gear or knives all I get is my own listing - the section under latest listing says, "private" so I am unable to view any listings in these wanted-to-buy categories etc...HELP!!

help...can not access anything in the "wanted gear/gadgets or knife" forum...In the "last Post" section to the right of the "exchange" heading, in the wanted section, "private" is written. I am only able to view my own posts etc...

Don't get it...

It's simple.
There are paid memberships. They allow for various access. For example, you as a registered user are not allowed to sell items. You need a gold or higher membership. Once you have that processed, those forums open up. If we allowed open access to the WTB section, this forum would turn into a giant bastardization of eBay, Etsy, Craigslist, and everything else all rolled in one. Without the memberships the cost to run, maintain, update, and archive the forums would not be paid and the site would then shut down. The costs to run forums is very real and a lot of people are under the impression that data companies give away bandwidth and technical help, and storage space out of the goodness of their hearts.
The solution is to buy the Gold membership. $30/year comes out to be 12 cents a day or so.

oh, I see - I am a paid up gold member unless it expire or something dropped out...will check

I do see an BF email expiring email now that I ignored of course...dolt

I think you should get an email before it happens

That is usually the case, but sometimes (it does happen) the email will get sent straight to junk mail. It may depend on the email providers forecast of spam, the last couple months AOL has had a constant barrage of spam going through their email clients and they as a result upped the threshold for what "spam" may be.

Hey RevD, is there somewhere at my page where I can find my renewal date? Thanks, Steve

At the top of the page, click "Settings".
On the left side, under "my settings", is "paid subscriptions". Click it.
At the top of the resulting page is "Active subscriptions", along with the expiration date.

.12 cents a day, Rev??? It's a no brainer then...my mind's completely made up! Come June, you can count of me being down for another year of "PAID MEMBERSHIP" on this awesome forum!!!

Personally, I'd feel guilty, if I didn't contribute something back, to the place that has provided me with so much entertainment, knowledge, friendships, & of course, so many awesome knives!
