Cliff Stamp is well know on this site for his thorough reviews of many popular knives. But it is well known that few knives make it through Cliff's review in one piece, and it is rumored that his gaze alone has caused some knives to fall apart.

Well perhaps its time for all of us to put our heads together to find Cliff a worthy adversary.

So lets hear it. Ideally we want a knife that can retain a shaving edge afer cutting through cinderblocks and iron building girders. A tough piece that will stay true even if it is used to pry small buildings from their foundation. Something with a nice solid grip since we know how most of us feel about rubber grips and bug repellant. Oh and BTW it should cut, and cut, and cut...

(Note: just in case some of you haven't had your coffee today - lets keep this creatively light hearted)

A well-honed D-2 road grader blade... still attached to the road grader. Just don't give him the keys.

I was considering the HI Ang Khola Bowie. At least its heavy enough (1/2"+thick) that he might get tired before he breaks it.

Edmund Davidson used to make some tough knives, I have a model with a twelve inch blade that came in a rhino hide sheath, which supposedly survived several African safaris. But, I haven't seen an ED camp knife since Cliff turned up; I guess it's just a coincidence.

Hal, I think you're on the right track. I would like to see the Kydex rig for that!

I don't know, Hal. I fear that blade is only 1085 or 1095 steel. And, it's over 40 years old. I'm worried Cliff will find some super abrasive asphalt or something and just tear it up.

Bugs,

You're not suggesting we give him the keys to that thing... are you?

How about something like a Hibben's Alaskan Bowie, it has a 4" blade blade 1/2" thick. Do you think he can generate enough torque to break it?

Let's ask Lynn Thompson for one of his toughest blades. Cliff's test could be the start of a whole new "Proof" video!

Or not.

Esav,

Too late... he already went through one of the trailmaster bowies.
