It hurts to be on the cutting edge.

Well I don't have the M2, but I do have the C2 and D2. Does this work?

I have the C2 (Black), M2 (HA) and the new M2 (HA).

The new M2 Bezel is larger than the C2. However;
The aim of the new M2 Bezel is for Shock Isolation using SureFire's Shock Aborbing System (S.A.S.).

This means that all the Millennium Series Flashlights are now Shock Isolated. (M2/M3/M3T/M4/M6)

I can not stress enough just how effective the M2 S.A.S. is! I'm shocked at what this flashlight can take. This flashlight lets you get on with worrying about what you're doing rather than about the flashlight.

The Bezel is larger - longer (~10mm) and wider (~5mm). It adds a satisfying "toughness" which is what it is(!)

I don't see this as a problem at all. Especially after carrying it around and using it. Why? Because you can abuse this flashlight.
It's ability to withstand more than I ever think you'll need it to take make it perfect for those who have to rely on their tools.

Shelby Chan's Photo from www.PK-Engineering.com shows one of the proto-types of the new M2 and an C2.

I've field-tested a proto-type like this.

The cooling fins have been added to help cool the flashlight (!) [It does get hot], to reduce weight & I suppose to help break up the Bezel size as well as create a practical design 'style' for the Millennium Series.

I am VERY Impressed with the new M2!

When placing an order for the new style M2, is there any easy way to help avoid confusion and ensure that you don't order the older version by accident?

I'd call SureFire Customer Service (it's free) and ask for the new M2 part number.

Then, contact the company you want to buy from, and make sure you clearly state that you want:

NEW
M2
part number - 12345-6 *

And send a copy of the new M2 photo such as the one I've posted above.

*Please note - this is not the correct part number. (or if it is, I'll have to start buying lottery tickets!)

this is mine (a M2) really want the cooling fins

That's a cool idea Joel.

How do you think the LED would be powered and switched? (momentary push down on that flat bit with your little finger and twist for constant-on?)
The LED couldn't be used when the Harris grip was being used though?

I've seen your photos on PK's site.

I like the grey HA. Maybe it's the photo, but my old M2 is a dark green-brown colour. The new M2 Proto Bezels I've been testing have a more grey HA, not as light as yours looks.

The Cooling Fins are cool! This has to be one of the best looking flashlight ever!!

The parasite led (I like that term Joe...) must have a temp/on-off switch...

If we put the switch on the mini-butt of the "parasite" it can be operated by the index finger of the hand holding the flashlight in the Rogers/surefire position.
the switch on the flat top of the "parasite" will give you the option of turning the light with the pinky with the Harries one...

best regards!

Alastair got the Rogers/SureFire and the Harris grips mixed up... "D'OH!"

I don't use the Rogers/SureFire grip much cos I don't have any handguns, but I think I can see now, how you'd activate the parasite.

Would the Parasite run of "host power" or would it have it's own batteries?

If it runs off it's own power, I'd love an LED Parasite on my Lanyards and Keyrings!

Al

I think it will be best to run from independent power supply, that way will be easier to incorporate to existing models...
