Hey all,

I'm wondering how Bark River's black canvas micarta wears over time. Does it stay smooth? Get more textured? Weather and look more gray than black? If you have photos or opinions of Bark River's black canvas micarta handles, I'd love to hear and see!

thanks,
keegan

I haven't had it very long but here is my mini canadian. I think a little texture might be coming through in the butt of the handle, but I could also be imagining that :foot:

EDIT: I'm cross posting this thread to the BRKT facebook group, those guys have great and well used collections

Bark River Spa Treatment - Send in you knife and they will totally fix it up including original markings like the logos and stuff for $15 or something like that

I don't have any experience with Bark River, but most of my fixed blades sport micarta. I find it to be the perfect material for the outdoorsy duties that my fixed blades tend to be charged with. We do a bit of camping, about 30 nights outdoors a year, and I pretty much always have a micarta handled knife hanging off of my belt when we're camping. I haven't yet noticed any wearing on any of my knives. They'll lighten up a bit when they get dry and they'll get little surface scratches on them when I'm moving around in the woods a lot, but a couple drops of oil on a rag brings them right back to looking brand new. You'd have to put in some serious work to put a significant amount of wear on micarta.
