Guys and gals,

I just can't wait anymore. I've been trying to be patient and wait for someone to post up a review after the unveiling at Blade 2013, but I can't handle it anymore. The pressure and anxiety is killing me lol!

I've been quietly going through every thread having to do with Blade, hoping that a comparison may be hidden within, but haven't found one yet. There have been a couple that have come really close, but not quite the comparison I'm looking for.

I'm talking specs, reviews, pictures from all sides, the whole shebang.

I know one of you lucky hogs scored a TGLB-M that also has a regular TGLB. So do the rest of us a favor, and post some pictures and thoughts lol!!

I'm trying to decide if I want to hold off with the hopes of ordering a TGLB-M if they are released on the site, or just get a standard TGLB. And I can't make this decision alone. It's waaaayyy too much pressure. I'm gonna need some outside influence from those of you who have handled them both.

Up until recently, I was a Busse virgin. On a whim, I picked up an ASH-1. Now I'm friggin hooked. So help a brother out!

Oh, and if you have a TGLB-M and an ASH-1, please oh please post up a side-by-side picture!!

Thanks!!!

:D

I can't just ask for help without giving something in return, so below are a few pics of my first Busse and Rainwalker leather sheath. I seriously LOVE this thing.

I've been a die hard fan of a different brand of knives all my adult life, and pretty much carry them exclusively....... Until I got this. Now I still love that other brand, which I won't mention as I believe that is poor taste to do in someone else's forum, but this is the fixed blade that has been getting all the carry time after receiving it!

Lol the pictures must've been so horrible no one wants to look at them lol.

Well I thought it was a cool knife. Love this thing! This blade is thicker than any knife I've ever held! And this sheath is an excellent piece of craftsmanship. I'd definitely look for another Rainwalker if I'm lucky enough to pick up a second Busse.

The first thing that struck my mind when I picked up a Busse for the first time was the sheer amount of steel I was holding in my hand. The knives just have a "presence" that none of my other blades have.

You've got a beauty there!

I've not handled the TG-M, but I did have some experience with the TGLB. The answer to your question really depends on what your intended applications will be, if it's just for collecting then take your pick.....:)

I have zero interest in the TG-M, despite it being a well built knife. I just see it as a large knife that's trying to be a small knife, way too bulky for what I look for in a 5.5" blade that will actually get carried on a belt. This is especially true if the TG-M features magnum handles like the TGLB, way too thick for me if concealment and ease of carry is a priority. It also will likely be handle heavy by the looks of it, which will negatively affect it's chopping abilities.

I did like the the TGLB as a whole while I had it, but not enough to keep myself from passing it on. I had a similar dislike in that it was quite bulky and I figured if it was going to get carried, I'd just assume take something with a 9.5-11.5" blade for the extra utility without being much harder to carry. The double guard design wasn't a huge deal to me, but I did find pretty quickly that I would have preferred not to have to top guard.

Having said what I dislike about both, I will say that I like the grind on both and it should make for a very sharp edge (which is always a good thing). There's also multiple points for attaching accessories or cordage on both of these, which could help in a survival situation. Both are these models are quite popular, so if you decided after purchasing that they weren't for you then you could likely get most if not all of your money back on this forum.

BTW, nice pics of your ASH-1!

I would also like to mention that your ASH-1 fits right between the TG-M and TGLB in size, so you might consider looking at a 9-11" Busse to avoid the redundancy in your collection/toolbox. Cheers!

The handle to blade ratio of the TGLB seems appropriate to me (large:large :D), so I don't expect to purchase a TGM.

As far as the ASH-1 is concerned, that is the most comfortable handle of all the Busse and kin that I own. Hard to compare with that, as far as I'm concerned.

Good luck in your search
