Well, I made the mistake of visiting my local Boker, etc, pusher... oops. He has a Titan Worker sitting there... it's only money... Friday is payday for both of us... it's also my birthday (62). The house can wait a month. They have it at a really decent price. Suddenly - I saw the metal - 440C? The N690BO of the Titan Defender/Defender Lightweight, not to mention my recent, and cheaper, Pry-Mate and Haddock, was too much? Really, I thought there were heiroglyphs found on how to temper 440C!

Help me over the blade metal choice. If you have one, what do you think of it? The clip, neat as it is, will have to stay in the box. Thanks for any & all info & opinions!

440c is a great working steel, easy to get sharp, holds a good edge, certainly tough enough. the way i see it, if youre going to use a knife and know how to sharpen, having a super steel isnt required. of course, the price should then more reflect that steel. i have to imagine that even at a good price it still costs a pretty penny..

i have the knife, the fit and finish is top notch, very thick ti liners, etc, you saw it in person, so you know these things. you also know, as do i, that boker puts out very nice pieces, the titan worker is one of them. i only wish a nailnick was on the blade.

if you like it, buy it, the steel wont let you down.
