Wanted To Buy forums marked private?

I can see all the forums in the Exchange except the two Wanted To Buy ones, which say anyone can post to but only Gold or higher memberships can reply to. I scanned 20 pages of threads in this forum for the word "buy" and didn't see anyone else posting the same problem, so give it to me straight -

- is it me? It's me, isn't it?

Seriously any advice would be appreciated as I recently came into some cash and I want to give the paying members here a chance to take it away from me. Thanks much!
 
What you're seeing is correct.

Since only gold members or higher can sell, only they can see the threads in that forum to make sure others don't use those forums as a means of selling. Go post a thread in there, and IIRC, only you and those members who are allowed to sell will be able to see it.

Or at least I think that's how it works.
 
That is correct. People were cruising the Want To Buy section and contacting prospective buyers to avoid having to buy a Gold or higher membership, so it had to be changed. If you want to buy something, you can post in that sub-forum, and you will be able to read your thread and any replies to it, but only you and the people who can sell you something here will be able to reply.
