Just wanted to drop a line here on the SOG forum...

My girlfriend recently got me a Flash I as a surprise from a local outfitter. Normally I'm a fan of Mr. Glesser's Golden Company, but I have to say that I was very impressed with the quality of this assisted opening folder. In short review, comfortable ergonomics, nice flat-ground blade, shaving sharp out of the box, solid action. In the short time I've had it, very nice. :)

Thanks for putting out a good one.

God bless.

I also think that the Flash is great. Although it has the normal AUS-8 steel which is not superb but SOG gets the best out of it. They make it razor sharp, it's just as sharp as VG-10 IMO. I only think that AUS-8 gets chipped a little too fast. But it holds its edge long enough and it is a good steel overall.

The Flash has a very cool assisted function which I like. It was my first 'good brand' folder. It feels great when you hold it and the blade is also pretty thick and feels solid.
There is also not much blade play, nearly none.

It has a piston lock which I think is sometimes a little hard to push down. I like the lock on the Trident more. That's easier to close. But I would chose the Flash as EDC knife.

But overall you get a real cool knife. I also like the SOG logo on the blade.

Good luck with it!
