Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for all the reviews, recommendations and everything Ive learned from reading here, just months ago I was buying cheap knives thinking they were all that, thanks to you guys I have bought since I became member:
Esee Candiru
Esee Izula 2
Esee 3
Esee 4
Esee 5
Buck 110
Fallkniven TK 4
Emerson CQC 7
couple of Moras
couple of Opinels
Spyderco Military

I fell in love with the Esee brand, Falkniven will be next, if it wasnt for you guys I would still be wasting my money, Ive learned a lot about knives,

Hidden gems, hmm.... Try anything with the name Becker preciding it lol. My favorites are the Kabar Becker bk9, bk 10, and bk 11 (pictured in that order).

Also my current favorite EDC fixed blade is the Buck 245 MWG. I haven't seen much talk about it on bladeforums but I really like it.

Give the Becker line up a shot. I have the BK7 it was a gift from a friend and I've used it extensively. I stripped the coating off, cold blued it, and have used to do yard work around the house it goes on hikes with me, and I keep it in the trunk of my car in my get home bag.
 
Give the svörd peasant (or peasant mini) a shot. They can be finished a bit roughly, but there is a great knife under it. Its priced about what an opinel is as well.

Just avoid the metal scaled ones :).

I will second this. Excellent value for money.
 
Another +1 for Beckers and Svords .... they look very nice together :D

I'll thirdly agree on any of the Beckers and any of the SAKs.

You'll also need a Case Sodbuster Jr (25 bucks).

And, look in to getting other traditionals too; anything by Great Eastern Cutlery or Queen.

oh, and at least one KA-BAR 1217 F/U knife.

Hidden Gems? I don't know that its a big secret but give Busse a shot if you can spare the change, Infi steel will give you a whole new expierence.
