Hello everyone I've decided to get another Emerson knife the only trouble I'm having is deciding on what to get I already have the mini 15, 7, 8, 10 and the commander I was looking at the full sized 15 the cqc7v journeymen or roadhouse... Ill be getting the money in a few days so I don't have to decide now but I know I want another Emerson and suggestions?

The 2013 satin 15 I just got is beautiful. Already in my pocket, the journeyman is tempting though. Seems pretty similar to the 8 you already have.

I really like my regular-size 7v but since you're looking at a full-size knife, you need to decide how you're going to use it. If you want a utility blade, then you may want to consider a Journeyman. It wasn't made for military usage like the 8 so it doesn't have the banana shaped blade. I use mine as a full-size utility knife at work and bought my Journeyman with the serrations. Besides, Ernie recommends them. :D Anyway, I like my various Emersons -- each for its own reasons -- but for an all-around full-sized utility knife, the Journeyman clearly out performs the others.

I have a mini commander, a desert roadhouse and a socfkb. Each one was purchased for its own reason/usage.
What would I purchase next? Who knows. I have about worn myself out trying to figure that one out the last few months. If I came across a left handed model, that would add to the dilemma.
On top of that, I was at the Alamo last week while on vacation and a buddy commented that a photo of a 13 with the Alamo in the background would have been nice... If some of the new knives that were designed earlier this year went into production, I could see myself having to add more options to the list...
I know this doesn't answer your question, but once you get your daily carry knive(s) figured out, my feeling is everything else is just adding to a collection or filling a want... And yes, I have several wants...
YMMV.
My $0.02.
Fred

thanks seems like the majority say the journeyman and as for usage I will be using it to break down boxes cut clothing for rags heavy duty zip ties a long with other heavy usage I am in the army and I loan my knife out to guys who don't carry their own so I always prefer an Emerson just because they are meant for hard use looks i have it narrowed down between two the 13 and the journeyman and Fred I would have to definitely to agree that a 13 with an Alamo background would be awesome hope I have the time to get down there some time thanks for all your help

between the 13 and the journeyman, I'd go Journeyman.
