Which sub-forum would be best for someone who knows little about knives but wishes to learn more? Some of the forums take for granted that you already possess a fair amount of expertise about blades.

This General Knife Discussion forum is probably the best for a beginner looking to learn the basics. Maintenance, Tinkering, and Embellishment is good for sharpening, which also teaches you how a sharp edge works. Bernard levine's forum is for identifying mystery knives. And Knife Reviews & Testing gives in-depth looks at specific models.
