The more I dig around the forums here, the more I want to learn about knives. I don't necessarily want to make knives (yet). But I'd really like to learn more about the different blade materials, their pros and cons, different techniques associated with working the metal and shaping the blades (heat treating, grinding, etc...).

Are there any good really good books on the subject? If it is a knife making book that is fine, I'd just really like to learn as much as possible, so that I can make good informed decisions about blade purchases and usage.

Thanks!
