Wapiti antlers

My question is simple: Are Wapiti antlers being used as scale (handle) material today?

I just happen to locate some of this material here (it is over 70 years old) and it looks great on knives....

Wapiti is another name for elk and yes indeed some elk is used today. It is not as thick and white as the Sambar stag that is preferred today.

Any stock of antler is worth pursuing given the current supply situation.

So far only 3 were made - and only this one is finished this way. The other 2 look more like regular stag knives....

I have material to make only about 5 all together .
