Strange request perhaps but does anyone have a pic or two they could post of someome actually holding the War Boar? I need to see a perspective of it in an actual hand to see how big it actually is, angle of blade when held in standard and reverse grip, etc... Thanks in advanced guys. :)

I saw that one and it was the catalyst for this post. What I am looking for is someone holding it as using the finger hole. A profile would be great so as to see how far the blade the sticks out. I really like the look of these beasts. Thanks for the heads up Schuey1 :)

You may also inquire of said "Hand Model" to hold a baseball or something else familiar so you also have an idea of the "Hand Model"s hand size. Just a thought. :)

this is when its held in a solid punching position, where im really gripping it hard as though i were actually slashing with it.

i generally try to avoid commenting on "how to fight" threads, so i'd just like to say that im not advocating any of these positions (and by that i mean the extended grip where the entire knifes weight and counter force rests on your middle finger bone) - just that these are what are commonly shown grip positions for a karambit.

i will however say - wich has been bugging me since i read it on these forums - DO NOT - EVER - block a knife slash with the backs of your hands. you will lose your ability hold things permenetly. if you block - block with something non vital, even large muscles are better then your tendons. the backs of your arms and hands should not be used in this manner. ever.

i didnt take pictures of it, but the tip grinds on my war boar are way off. the tip noticably curves to the right because one side was ground moreso then the other. when you look down on it, the tip almost looks like the entire thing is chisel ground its so far to the right. also - there is not point at the tip of the knife. it has the same tip as the beshara where the two grinds arent allined. the tip is technically an "edge" - but its not a point, its a square where the grinds are offset.

for reference:

my first knuckles (what you punch with) are 3 7/8" across

the circumfrance of my knuckles is 9"

from the top to bottom of my palm = 4"

middle finger = 3 1/2" long

also, i got the larger ring size

Seth: You da man. I really appreciate the pics. The WB is much larger than any Karambit I have ever trained with or used. It is a beast. Nothing at all like the smaller, concealable models I was originally introduced to.

I must have one. ;)

Thanks again bro.

I really like the oversized ring. I find the ones on the emerson folder to be too small even for someone like me who isnt all that big (5' 11")

How does it spin?????????

noting the last photo i posted - i wouldnt suggest it.

im somewhat curious to see if one of these could be modified to completely remove the ring...

the portion of the ring thats on the inside near the handle pushes your pinky outward, making for a little bit of an akward grip. looking at it now, if i ordered it again i probably would have ordered the small ring, with the inside modified to be floser to the handle scales (flush), if garth was willing to do that specific mod.

Funny, i get better results with smaller rings...I find that large (and thin) rings make the karambit "flop around" when you try to spin it...my Emerson is the best spinner because the ring is so small in diameter yet very thick in profile.

The Busse is pretty good...a little heavy but quite stable.
