Made this one for my dad for fathers day

Nice set up Buddy.

I think your Father will be happy.

Awesome set up. Great gift. I thought I was a good son until I saw that!

How do you like the war dog? I havent seen many threads with actual user reviews. I've had mine for a week or two now and while I like the handle I don't like the blade shape and the lack of a usable choil. But if there's anything Ive learned about knives its that you never know how you like a blade until you actually get out and use it.

KalEl,

I bought my War Dog primarily for field dressing deer, where I feel it will excel. I have however used it extensively thus far for breaking down trees in my yard just to use it. Made a pile about 12' high and 30' around to burn of scraps and branches. Batoning, chopping, slicing and just plain beat the hell out of it. Suffice to say I like it more than I thought I would based on first impressions. It handled a days worth of work I would normally use a Junglas/Machete for. I will definitely keep her!

I got the war dog the day I took my son on a camping trip so I used it for some food prep and as a can opener because I forgot one. I really like the knife for the size it very comfortable in hand I don't think it needs a choil.

I can't think of anything that couldn't be done with that pair... I'm sure your dad will love it!

As a dad, I can say that a gift made by you... as opposed to anything bought, is an incredibly special gift. You took you time and skill to put that together with your dad in mind... Pretty awesome on your part!!!:thumbup::thumbup:
