Well guys,
It's just sixteen days away from WAR. It looks like this will be the biggest and best yet. Lots of new people have signed up. In case there's any new folks here who haven't heard about WAR it's a free rendezvous with lots of good people, great times, seminars and about 3 thousand dollars worth of knives, survival gear and misc. giveaways. Plus we give away a survival course every year. For more info check out my web-site at www.weteachu.com and go to the newsletter page.

This sounds pretty amazing! You've got me considering if it's worth the drive.

John,
I definately think it's worth the drive. We will have folks coming from W Vurginia, Missouri, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Conn, Mass, Western NY and all over NY plus a couple of places I probably forgot.

Oh wow I had no idea there was an event like this within driving distance of were I live.

...I doubt I can make it with 16 days notice tho.

For one thing, I'm so new, I don't even have a complete camping kit yet.

Marty, 2 questions:

1) Any of your Fox Rivers for sale at the gathering?

2) Trout biting on the Chateaugay?

:)

I am still negotiating with work for the days off I went last year and had the time of my life. unfortunatley I havent had time to go for a full class yet but thats on my list next.

If you like spending time with really good people who love to teach and share bushcraft knowledge. you owe it to yourself to try to make it.

Brians,
Yes, Iv'e got a couple left and it's been a little hot lately but with the promised cooler weather they might start biting again.

There's no question it's worth the drive. I went to last year's and it was a great time. The only reason I'm hesitating right now is I just got back from SLC which was 30 hours each way for me. Marty's is about 14 from me. I'm officially wore out from all the traveling this year.

But, you'll have a blast if you go!

Halley and I are definitely looking forward to going. It is always a great Rendezvous.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone.

Joben, Lot's of us have extra equipment floating around that you can borrow. If you can free the time, let us know and we'll see what we can do to help you out.

Guys,
Six days to go so I thought I would give you a heads up on the weather. It looks pretty good so far but on the cool side. Temps are expected to be in the upper sixties during the day and dropping to low forties at night with a couple of nights possibly hitting upper thirties. BRING PLENTY OF WOOLIES.
Marty Simon
PS: I have extra tents if someone needs one.

All packed on this end and now the waiting begins.

Come on guys, we don't bite and WAR is the perfect proving grounds to justify your expensive purchases. Take some of your gear and use it doing what you love to talk about.

Mary and Kev,
Any chance of a session on deadfall traps?
I could use a refresher.

Anyone who is on the fence should jump in their car.
I was at PEACE this past spring and it was a blast.

Sharp Eye,
Bobby will be here and all you have to do is mention trapping and he will spend the weekend on the subject. See you in a couple of days.

I will be packing up the truck tonight. We will pull out sometime tomorrow evening. Looking forward to seeing some old friends and making some new.

WAR is worth the drive. It is 10 1/2hrs each way, and the kids and I never think twice about it. So... What are all you waitin' for?:D
