This is another blade I've made as I explore the ancient Scandinavian world. It was intended to be a full length single edged sword.. but edge delaminations reduced to some smaller knives. I will have three from this billet. That was a bad week. I had a close-up of the blade from this one in the thread I just posted. I didn't show the whole knife yet because I'm still considering what direction to go with the grip... but I will show it anyway and see what folks think. The blade is wrought iron, 2 bars of opposing twist 15n20/1084 and a W2 edge. The blade is 12". The grip is bird's eye maple with pewter poured into carved recesses. The pourings did not completely fill the spaces so I had to go back and drip molten pewter into the cavities... hence the lines you see. I will update this thread down the line when I make final decisions on the grip. This was not a commissioned piece so I have leeway in terms of how it goes. Please send me a message if there is any interest in taking this on.

Everybody does.. it just needs to wake up and smell the... mead? victory? :-)

Thanks for the comments folks!

Thank you El Don.

Last night's Viking sword show got me inspired to start the sheath for this... it will be a double lined goatskin Gotland style. I'm thinking of casting pewter for the fittings.. just need to come up with a design.
